Day 27: Pets

Well, our family doesn't make a huge deal over our pets (I guess it's a farm-life thing :), but we do have a few who have been around awhile.

 Our golden-retriever-turned-mutt Carmel :)

Some of our feathered friends which are always around.

Our most useful pet- Halle (hall-lay)

 Glory

 Misty-our pony

Halo
And our newest addition Sandy!

We also have two bunnies and neighborhood guinea hens that enjoy our pasture frequently.  Every-now-and-then we also see the neighborhood peacock and his family, as well as our fair share of deer, pests, birds, and reptiles.

2 years today!

Today, my friends, marks the 2 year anniversary of this blog.  Hard to believe how fast time flies!  Just 2 years ago I was a 16 year old, finishing up my last years of high school, praying about my future, and penning my thoughts and convictions.
As I look back I can see how the Lord used this blog to sharpen and shape me for the future.  Now I am learning to apply the things the Lord showed me in those fruitful years.  The years of waiting are behind me (on certain issues) and the years of working/serving are ahead.
Excitement, nervousness, and wonder paint the horizon of my life.  But I'm eager to see what the Lord will do and where He will lead.
Will you join with me for the next 2 years of this blog?  It'll be exciting, it'll be challenging, it'll be humbling, but most of all it will be a glorious victory because Jesus is with me!

Day 23: Favorite Vacation

Wow this is hard!  For generations we have enjoyed our family beach trip with my mom's side of the family.  We've made so many memories and had so much fun on each of these vacations that I can't choose a favorite.  Every year I'm sure I've had the best year ever but then the next one is even better.

One year we had an excitement on the beach.  A giant whale had been washed ashore only a few houses down from us.  We thought it was so neat until it started to rot and the stench, ugh...I can almost smell it thinking about it.  It was in everything!  No matter how much Lysol or air freshener we sprayed we could still smell it- yuck!

Another year we endured a hurricane and yet another year it rained the entire week!  We got so bored that my cousins, sisters, and I started gathering all of the fake plants throughout the house and we stuffed them in my uncle's bathroom (he's a great uncle, by-the-way who played along with us the rest of the week!).

My cousin and some plants :)
This past year was one of the best.  The Lord blessed us with beautiful weather, a gorgeous house, and a wonderful ocean.  I loved it!
The whole fam!

I'm looking forward to the many beach vacations in the future!

God's Love

Though from sea to sea or to the clouds above,
No length or height could measure God's love.
If you search high and you search low,
You will soon find that only God knows.

Though I measure the depth of the deepest sea,
No measurement could come close to God's love for me.
If I try to measure the width of the sky,
You'll see that I'll fail, because God's love is wide!

Though hard times will come in this life down below,
There's no reason to worry when God love's me so.
For no depth or width, or length or height,
Can ever separate me from the love of Christ.

AMEN!
